WalMart Stores (US) – $485.8bn
Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969. It also owns and operates Sam’s Club retail warehouses. The company operates under the name Walmart in the United States and Canada, as Walmart de México y Centro America in Mexico and, as the Seiyu Group in Japan, and as Best Price in India. It has wholly owned operations in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Canada.


State Grid (China) – $315.1bn
The State Grid Corporation of China commonly known as the State Grid is the state-owned electric utility monopoly of China and the largest utility company in the world. It is the second largest company by revenue in the world in 2016,
just behind Walmart.

Sinopec (China) – $267.5bn
Sinopec Group is one of the major state-owned petroleum energy and chemicals companies in China, headquartered in Chaoyang District, Beijing. Sinopec’s business includes oil and gas exploration, refining, and marketing; production and sales of chemical fibers, chemical fertilizers, and other chemical products; storage and pipeline transportation of crude oil and natural gas; import, export and import/export agency business of crude oil, natural gas, refined oil products, petrochemicals, and other chemicals.


China Natural Petroleum (China) – $262.6bn
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is a Chinese oil and gas corporation and one of the largest integrated energy groups in the world. Its headquarters are in Dongcheng District, Beijing. CNPC was ranked the third in 2016.


Toyota Motor (Japan) – $254.7bn
Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota, Aichi, Japan. In 2017, Toyota’s corporate structure consisted of 364,445 employees worldwide [4] and, as of October 2016, was the fifth-largest company in the world by revenue. As of 2016, Toyota is the world’s largest automotive manufacturer. Toyota was the world’s first automobile manufacturer to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year which it has done since 2012, when it also reported the production of its 200-millionth vehicle. Toyota is the world’s fifth-largest company by revenue.
