The Republic is governed in terms of the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November, 1949 and came into force on 26th January, 1950.. Indian Constitution is the supreme law of India. It is World’s lengthiest written constitution.It had 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules at the time of commencement.There are 103 amendments have been made in the Indian constitution so far. Now Indian Constitution has 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules.
