Leonardo Da Vinci is known as a true Renaissance man — an artist, inventor, draftsman, and polymath;  his best known masterpieces include Mona Lisa (housed in the Louvre in Paris), The Last  Supper, and the Vitruvian Man’s sketch.  Buonarroti Simoni, known simply as Michelangelo, is another well known Renaissance man. An architect, musician, poet and engineer, he’s said to have been his life’s greatest living artist. He is best known for David’s sculpture and famous frescoes in the Sistine Chapel depicting Genesis (on the ceiling) and Last Judgment (on the altar wall).  [Raphael] Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino was a painter and architect. He was  the only one not from Florence who died much younger than the other 3, but he was a very prolific artist. His most famous works include his paintings of Madonna of the Pinks, Saint George and Dragon, Sistine Madonna, Athens School and many others located in the Vatican’s Raphael Rooms.  Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi or Donatello was a sculptor whose most prominent works include David’s bronze sculpture, Chellini Madonna’s bronze roundel (Virgin and Child with Four Angels) and Penitent Magdalene ‘s wooden sculpture.
