Who was Ali ibn Abbas al-Majusi?

Ali ibn Abbas al-Majusi(Persian physician), he is best known for ‘The Royal Book’, one of the most comprehensive writings in early medical literature. so great was its fame that it was translated twice into Latin. The first half of his medical encyclopedia deals with theories behind medical treatment. it covers anatomy and physiology in detail.
The second half deals with medical treatment themselves, such as drugs and surgery. in Europe, this book was known as ‘Liber Regius’ or ‘Pantegni’.
